I love this entrelac hat. It was a quick knit and completed in a weekend of casual knitting.
I highly recommend this book. Many, many hat patterns that I like. I purchased it with my 40% off coupon at JoAnn's.
I had the novel idea of knitting a swatch in the future as I wish this hat were a “little deeper”. Unless it’s a sweater or something very time-consuming or special, I don’t swatch. Bad!, bad, bad!!!! That’s how knitters become such “gifting” people.
If it doesn’t fit us, it’s bound to fit someone, right?
Entrelac falls in the category of modular knitting. If you have a lot of yarn "nuggets", modular knitting is a great way to use them up. Consider a pair of entrelac socks, scarf, mittens, etc.
Now isn't this an interesting way to mend or repair your handknits!
I bet Deb could easily do this with her supply of needles that are collected like crayons.
Are any of us on this "Top Listed Blogs" ?
Want a laugh? Read this new daddy's blog...one post-it note at a time! It's a quick read.
Happy Knitting!

I love that hat! I have some Nashua Geologie that I think would work up into a great hat like that one. Must check out the book, too!
ReplyDeleteBTW, love your new banner!
Great hat! The needle felting for repairing works wonderfully. I've used it on my clogs.
ReplyDeleteOh be still my heart! LOL! I love all those crayons/needles. What a terrific hat! I've knitted a couple of Entrelac dishcloths, they're fun, but they take a lot of concentration, so that you don't lose your place where you're knitting. I guess I'll have to check out that book, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the Post-It Note Dad. I sent the link to my nephew who just became a new dad in Mar. Thanks.
That hat is ADORABLE! I'm not sure I would wear my sweater with a needle-felted patch, but it's a good option, and if I could match the color of the wool well enough, it might be not bad at all! I've got just the candidate in mind, actually -- a dark brown sweater that I love that has sprung a few little holes.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute hat! I've actually never seen entrelac done with only one color but I like it a lot.
