Palindrome Scarf

Pattern:  Palindrome Scarf  (<--click for free pattern)
Yarn:  Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk
Needles:  Size 10

What I really like about this scarf is that it is completely reversible.  The yarn I used has a "halo" and I would recommend using a solid color worsted though it calls for DK.  I added a cable repeat and increased the needles by one size and also added two rows between repeats.  The scarf in the picture has not yet been blocked.  The true color is a peacock blue and not anywhere close to what the camera captured.

Last week I purchased this delicate wash for my handknits.  A little expensive at $11 for the bottle, you only use 1/2 tsp. per half gallon of water.  With no rinsing involved, I don't know how I ever lived without this soap.  I purchased the lavendar scent which is delicate and acts as a moth repellant.  The wash also comes in smaller bottles.
Eucalan free sample  Click the link for a free sample.  There are several scents available including eucalyptus, grapefruit and fragrance free.

Obsessed, possessed, addicted or passionate.....well, I know that passionate fits the description when it comes to my knitting.  However, my soap buying purchases of the past week may fall in another one of those categories.  I was shopping today at a store that announced a special on hand soap.  Hello!!!! that's what I was there for as I was already swishing water in my soap dispenser trying to get the last of the soap till I could get to the store.  This soap was 27 cents a bottle so I purchased a dozen bottles.  And yes, I've tried it and I do like it.

Happy Knitting!!!

  1. I love the Palindrome pattern! I was enchanted with each and every cable crossing - it was the first scarf I was ever sorry to bind off...

  4. This is another scarf that I've been wanting to make. Yours is beautiful. Not only is that the best color but look at how soft it looks !!! I've not tried the Eucalan. I suppose if you are going to use such nice yarn, it all makes sense.

  5. I've had this pattern forever, but have yet to knit it. I haven't been able to get out to my LYS either to pick up yarn for my DD's hat, but I've though about making this scarf to go with her hat once I do get the yarn. Your scarf is just beautiful! I love that color.

Soaps....ah..another thing that we have in common. What a bargain, too.

  6. I, too, wonder what I ever did before Eucalan. Love that stuff! I love soap of all kinds, too. The other day I was in Barnes & Noble and they made an announcement that they had fresh, hot, gewy, delicious chocolate chip cookies just out of the oven. I'm glad I didn't do what you did with the hand soap. !!!

  7. Oh your scarf looks so squishy and soft! Love that it is reversible. I have not knit any reversible cables yet.

I love Eucalan, too! Everything I knit gets a bath in it. The grapefruit scent is my favorite.

  8. I can't believe you'd never tried Eucalan before. You gave me a small bottle in a package of goodies once, so I assumed you used it. It's my favorite.

I love the scarf, and I love it's name (I have an wierd fascination with palindromes).
