Well, I Say.............!!!!

I knew we were going to have a storm late last night.  The weatherman (it wasn't a weatherwoman) said 8-10 inches were expected.  Well, he lied was wrong.  As of noon, we had 24" of snow and it's still coming down heavy.

Being my last day of vacation, I slept in awhile if you call till 8:00 a.m. sleeping in.  When I went out there I could not believe my eyes.

I have not had to shovel snow in three years.  But there was no getting around this one.  I couldn't even open my car door.  Reinforcement arrived in the form of a neighbor who helped me shovel.  Now, the driveway was plowed but we still had to shovel around the car.

Once upon a time,  young boys would shovel for money.  Not anymore.

and about four hours car is there somewhere!

I am participating in a 365 photo challenge.  There's a link on the right for your viewing pleasure.  It is not a blog as such and no comments are expected.  Just enjoy!  Occasionally, the same pictures may be in my knitting blog.

Happy Knitting!

  1. WOW! That sure is A LOT of snow! Stay warm! ♥

  2. Wow we were complaining about 39 degrees here in N. CA! Stay warm and dry!

  3. My goodness, that's a lot of snow. Aren't you glad you have all those knitted items to keep you warm?

  4. I envy you! I miss snow. It's been cold (for us) here sometimes (in the 70s yesterday).

  5. Aw joansie . Keep warm and hope you keep your power. How on earth will you get your car out ?
The 13 inches we got before Christmas is still about 7 to 8 inches on but top is so icy and hard you can't break through nor walk on it. Tempatures is 11 * and wind chills are staying at - 6 to - 11 *. i don't go out unless I really have to.
Gonna clean some house today. Cluttered .. Keep warm

  6. very cool- we need a big snowstorm

  7. Well what do you expect from a man? I am happy to report, it missed us. We were just far enough inland that the lake effect didn't get us this time. However, about 10 miles west of us, it is a different story. Renate

  8. That's a lot of snow!

Thank goodness you had some help digging out.

  9. Love your snow pictures, but sorry you had trouble getting help. I guess all the neighborhood kids are too busy with their computers, and don't even know how to use a shovel anymore! Sigh...
