Knitting Olympics 2010

2010 Knitting Olympics on Yarn Harlot's Blog

Call me a day late and a dollar short!!!  The Knitting Olympics starts tomorrow, Friday, 2/12 during the “Opening Ceremonies” and must be completed in 17 days. I encourage you to participate and perhaps donate your knitting project to your favorite charity.

Lots of fun Olympic group knitting names on Ravelry. Check it out. I will be knitting this beautiful  "Flared Rib Scarf" for the "Red Scarf Project", a very worthwhile charity for orphan and foster kids attending college.

Let me know about yours if you decide to participate.  Feel free to grab the button on the right on my blog.

Happy Knitting!

  1. Looking at that list of 1966 "competitors" just made my head swim. I'll be knitting on my mom's sweater in the spirit of the Olympics, but I doubt I will stay up late enough to watch much of the opening ceremony, and with my upper extremities in such bad shape, I can't push myself too much. There are lots of other people doing their own thing, and I think the Ravelympics are separate and apart from the Harlot's Knitting Olympics, but I could be wrong. So consider me cheering you on, and trying to do what I can do, which may not be much. :)

  2. The scarf is beautiful!!! Are the instructions charted only or do they have the written out instructions too? It didn't say on the website.
